Prompt: Slumming it

((ooc: You know the drill: Free for anyone to tag, just mind the historical inaccuracies. Wanna' meet Anne Boleyn at a pub by the docks? Have fun! Drinking games ahoy!!))

Anne had grown bored of the propriety and stuffy air of court. So, with a little convincing, bribery, and overall blackmailing - she had convinced her brother George to accompany her to one of the pubs down by the docks. Of course she wasn't stupid enough to go by herself. She didn't want to find herself in trouble. And George would protect her from any unwanted attention - but he also had the God-given sense to know when Anne liked the attention.

So upon entering, George immediately ushered her to one of the darker tables, where she wouldn't stand out as much. He brought her ale, but Anne found it too bitter for her liking, so instead her brother got her a sweeter, yet stronger drink: Rum. Anne didn't like it as well as wine, but it would do. Poor George hadn't counted on Anne being able to hold her own against the strong liquor, but after a cup or two, she was still going strong.

Still, that didn't mean her inhibitions were completely there. Soon she joined the men in the pub in a song or two. They seemed to take a shine to her voice and even urged her to sing again for them. But Anne knew little of a sailor's life, though there was one song she knew: So that's what she sang.

George didn't care for this; not out of jealousy, but simply because he worried for his sister's safety, and didn't think it a good idea for her to draw attention to herself. So he hurried her back to the table and ordered her another drink to keep her quiet, for a little while at least.
