[For Thomas] [Modern AU] Secret Holiday
Anne was bustling about her apartment, assembling some clothes and getting her travel bags together. They had been planning a trip for some time now, but even so the destination was a surprise still to her. Thomas hadn't told her what the final destination plan was for them. Anne packed her clothes, planning for warm and cool weather. It was a little frustrating, not knowing that to pack exactly, but overall it was exciting.
She had slipped Thomas her key before she'd left the office that day. Anne had followed up on a lead for a story earlier in the day and took the rest of the day as personal time. Then she had come home and began packing.
Anne had a pair of dresses on the bed before her, and she couldn't decide which to take. It was silly to take them both with her. One was black with red patterned flowers, the other white with blue patterned flowers. But she no only had her clothes to pack, but she had jewelry and shoes to pack as well. Oh, it was so hard to pack, not knowing what destination for which they were bound.
But it was so romantic, and she was excited to get ready and going. Of course she had to wait for Thomas. She couldn't wait for him to arrive. Anne had picked up a bottle of wine to celebrate their holiday plans. It had been tricky, planning their getaway without anyone putting two and two together. Anne had vacation time saved up and gave the rest of her tasks to George for the time they'd be gone. She wasn't sure how Thomas had managed to get his time off to match hers, but somehow they'd done it.

Anne heard the honking, then glanced up - she didn't pay the car's driver much attention when she saw it. Such a flashy vehicle indeed. Anne attempted to continue her conversation with the older couple, but Mr. Dubois was chuckling and his wife had the widest eyes, pointing out the door.
It was then she took a closer look at the blue convertible and its driver. Anne laughed and nearly ran out - but quickly she doubled back and kissed them both goodbye. Then Anne bolted out the door and laughed as she ran up to the driver's side of the car, leaning on it and looking down at Thomas.
"What's this!? My goodness, you certainly like to travel in style," She grinned.

There was a map of France on the center console between the seats. Wyatt had folded it open to show the major highways out of Paris. He'd also planted a Post-It note with a name and telephone number of their next destination to the edge of the map. Just like he'd explained, they were going to stay at a wineyard.
"We need to get to road A5, to Troyes." Troyes was one of the largest towns in the Champagne region, and approximately two hours away from Paris.
"Or we can take some winding backroad if you want to savour the journey. Either way, I'm trusting you with the map."
((ooc: I just randomly chose Troyes and a quick google search revealed it to be a beautiful Renaissance town with Tudor style buildings.))

She glanced to the map and smiled at the notion that she could lead them through France, through the most beautiful places in the country.
"Winding backroads it is," she smiled as she gestured to the road ahead. "Head to town square and take a left to get out of the city."
She would lead them through the countryside to enjoy the sun and fields of flowers and grapes before they would arrive at their destination. If only for today, she could pretend that this was a regular day for them, two lovers on a daytime country drive.
She planned to milk it for as long as she could.
((ooc: Ooooh it looks like a canal city! How pretty! Perfect choice!!))

"All we need is rockabilly music," he chuckled but didn't try to find a radio station that played such music. He needed to concentrate and keep his eyes on the traffic until they were safely out of downtown Paris.
It wouldn't have been necessary to take any breaks on the way to Troyes but when they spotted a couple of teenagers selling fresh strawberries by the side of the road, they purchased a small box and drove to a nice lookout place.
"Strawberries, a great view and an almost-French girlfriend... that's all I want," he mused after settling on the backseat and his arm wrapped around Anne's shoulder. A beautiful, rural landscape stretched out in front of them.

It was such a peaceful drive, Anne nearly fell asleep. But when Thomas stopped she became more alert, and smiled at the sight of the fresh strawberries. The lookout place didn't take long to get to. Anne moved to the back seat with Thomas as he parked the car and leaned into him when he wrapped his arm around her.
"Me too - there's nothing more I could want from life," she smiled as she nuzzled against his neck and looked out over the view. Slowly she reached up and untied the silk scarf around her hair, since they were parked she didn't have to worry about her hair getting mussed. "This is absolutely perfect, Thomas."

Since the traffic was almost nonexistent, Wyatt quickly got comfortable with driving on the right side of the road, steering with his left hand and holding onto Anne's hand that rested on his thigh.
Now they looked across a valley of fields and got their fingers red with strawberry juice. Like she had said, it was perfect. Wyatt reached out to smooth over Anne's hair when she removed the scarf.
"Don't thank me for French countryside," he chuckled and leaned even closer for a soft little kiss.
"Well, as much I like keeping you in suspense, we should discuss my travel plans. I've made some reservations that need to be confirmed if we're to act on them but I want your opinion. We could drive all the way to Italy, to Milan or Verona, and then return to London by train. Would you like that? I'm talking about one of those historical trains like Orient Express, Agatha Christie's style. It's a fancy overnight train, formal dinners and all. If you're not up to that, we can just fly home, no problem."
no subject
"A train sounds wonderful Thomas!" She exclaimed. "Italy sounds perfect, we could spend time near the water and enjoy the sea before we are land-bound by the train. Oh but the countryside will be absolutely divine!"
She was ecstatic for several minutes before she calmed down and looked to him. For a moment she was silent as she looked at him, overwhelmed for a moment. "You truly planned all of this for me...for us. You're so wonderful and kind...what gods or manner of powers that be did I please to have deserved such a loving man?"
Anne leaned in and kissed him softly, tasting strawberry on his lips as she remained close.

"I'm glad you're liking my plans. I worried that I was trying too hard. I just want you to be happy. The most happy. I love you so much."
They stayed at the lookout place for a moment longer and then drove to the vineyards to stay a few days. Rows and rows of grapefruit vines spread around an old farmhouse and small cottages that were used as bed and breakfast accommodation for tourists. There were horse, too, and Wyatt and Anne took the opportunity to race along the dirt roads while the sun was setting.
From the Champagne country of France they drove southward until they reached Italy and the Mediterranean Sea. To balance out old and new - their hotel rooms had been of the 'historical variety' so far - Wyatt booked a room in an ultramodern hotel that had a small infinity pool.
When packing, Anne had teased him and not revealed if her bathing suit was a bikini or a one-piece. Wyatt figured he was about to find that out soon.

She kissed him again, both hands framing either side of his face. "I love you too."
Their stay at the vineyards was beyond imagination. Anne had recalled some of the lessons she had learned about various wine pairings and how different harvests could influence the flavor of the wine. The horseback riding and racing had been something out of a fairy tale, and Anne had taken immense joy in outracing Thomas.
Italy was very different from France. And as much as Anne had enjoyed the historic trip so far, the modern luxury was a breath of fresh air.
The infinity pool was a welcome sight. And indeed, Anne was eager to tease her lover further. She picked up a towel from the bathroom and opened her suitcase, shielding its contents with her body and sliding her bathing suit under the towel to hide it from his view. She then smirked over her shoulder to him and started for the bathroom to get changed.
"Go ahead and get in without me, I'll be out soon!" she called to him playfully before shutting the door.
no subject
"Don't take too long, dear, or the water gets cold!" he laughed at her through the bathroom door. There was of course no danger of the pool water turning for the colder on a sunny day like this.
His swim trunks were dark grey with light blue and pink stripes on both sides. Too often, he felt, were men's swinwear made to look like Hawaiian shirts with their bright colors and childish patterns. He preferred something more sophisticated.
Since it was clear Anne wanted to make a Grand Entrance, Wyatt waited for her in the pool facing the other direction. He rested his elbows over the pool's edge and stared into the distance.

"Hello my love," she whispered playfully as she pressed her chest gently against his upper back. "Miss me?"
She slid one hand down a bit lower on his chest, dipping her fingers in the water. "Mmm...the water's absolutely perfect."
no subject
"It depends on who you are," he chuckled and moved his arms to touch Anne's waist and backside. Not much fabric there... At least she had not put on some huge one-piece suit for fun and giggles.
"You must be the infamous Anne Boleyn." Wyatt unwrapped her hands gently and turned around. He didn't yet look at the swimsuit but directly into Anne's eyes.
"She's the only one to find my sensitive spot," he whispered and lowered his head to find hers. Wyatt ran his lips along Anne's neck.

“In the flesh,” she replied, giving special emphasis on the last word, just to see what sort of reaction he gave.
But just as she knew Thomas’ weak points, he too knew hers. At the graze of his stubble and his soft lips over her neck, Anne couldn’t help moaning softly. Slowly she tilted her head to allow him access to more of her skin.
“I take it you won’t mind if I join you?” She chuckled softly before slowly moving away, letting her fingers drag along his chest as she stood up fully again. Anne walked along the edge of the pool and slowly slid into the water with Thomas, settling in across from him with a playful, daring smile on her lips.

"Get your pretty ass over here already," he smirked, enjoying the full look of her in that bikini. Flesh... not much of that hidden now.
He was far from patient and the 'I dare you' look on her face merely amplified it. Anne would soon find him diving under the water and grabbing her behind her thighs. He didn't try to shake her balance, just to press his mouth against the minimal piece of fabric covering her private parts.
When he couldn't hold his breath any longer, he emerged from the water and smiled up at her.

Somehow he always managed to surprise her.
Like when he dove beneath the water and seized her so suddenly. Anne cried out in surprise and delight, thinking he would give her a pinch here or there, or even tug the bottoms of her bathing suit loose to reveal her body fully. But when she felt his mouth against the fabric and the brush of his beard against her thighs, Anne cried out again. On instinct, her hands plunged beneath the water and squeezed his shoulders. Anne laughed and squirmed in Thomas' grip as he emerged from the water.
"Devil!" she teased, splashing him with the warm water even as she grabbed his swim trunks and pulled him in closer. She tilted her head to kiss him softly and even nipped playfully at his lower lip.

She was wearing so little. And they were outside which added yet another exciting factor to this. Never before they'd had this much privacy out in the open air.
"I am a gentleman, after all, so I won't pick you up and drop you into the water without your permission." His smile revealed that that was what he wanted to do,
no subject
"Your hardest indeed," she chuckled wickedly. "As if you'd get my full permission for such a thing." The smirk that played about her lips said otherwise in contrast to her proclamation.
Slowly Anne wrapped her arms around Thomas' neck, leaning in to press her body against his. Her hips arched against his, her chest did the same, displaying the full softness of her breast against the hardness of his own.
no subject
"But I have half a permission? Is that what the good lady is saying?"
As lovely as her body felt and looked to him at that moment, he was - regrettably - going to put distance between them.
"Yeah... I believe that's what she's saying," he continued slowly in order for her to fully realize he was actually going to do it. To scoop her up, give a kiss to those sweet lips, and then by twisting his upper body, sent her flying into the pool with a splash.
((ooc: Ugh, I certainly didn't mean to make you wait for three weeks. I really, really hope to be able to post for Dover thread tomorrow. Easing into this with shorter tags.))
