Prompt: Captured

((ooc: Open for anyone to tag, but beware the historical mindfuckery. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Is to rescue Anne Boleyn from the prison tower of Emperor Charles V in Spain.))

It seems the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V, was not content to sit idly by and let Henry VIII, King of England, mistreat his aunt. Catherine of Aragon, the unhappy queen, had been neglected and ignored by Henry since her miscarriage of their son. Henry grew angry, thinking his marriage cursed by God and had thus sought to create male heirs by his mistresses.

Though Anne Boleyn was different.

She had refused his advances at first, to the chagrin of her father and uncle. Anne hadn't had interest in the king - and did not take to the idea of being referred to as "The Second Great Prostitute" like her sister, Mary. Still, after a while she had broken down and agreed to be the king's One True Mistress - though they had yet to share a bed. Still, that didn't stop Henry from pursuing a divorce from Catherine.

That's what had made Charles angry.

A few secret letters from Catherine told him the truth of how she had been mistreated by the king, and how he sought to divorce her in order to marry Anne Boleyn. Outraged, Charles had sent orders to his ambassador to take a few men with him and kidnap the queen and her ladies.

Kidnapping the queen and bringing her to Spain would free her from the king's cruelty. And, as Anne was a lady in waiting to the queen, she would also be captured, and Charles would be free to execute her in his realm. The charge: Treason against the queen of England.

So Anne was locked in the prison tower, awaiting her punishment. What would it be? Hanging? Drawn and quartered? Anne knew Catherine would want the slowest, most painful death imaginable for her...but Anne would not give the satisfaction of showing her fear. Even locked in the tower she remained strong and refused to cry.

But in her heart, she wondered: Where was her brother, George? Where was her father? Where was the king?

Would anyone rescue her?

[ooc: There's an "arranged marriage" meme, which isn't exactly appropriate to the situation, but we could modify it. Either of those other two memes could be left where they are, I think.]

"I actually came down here to inform you that it's a lovely day outside and suggest that perhaps you might want to come on deck and get some fresh air. After," he glances at the sheet wrapped around her, "making yourself presentable in mixed company, of course."

((That works! Anne's tagged over there now - did you want me to tag back on the other two or leave them be?))

Anne blushes and pulls the sheet tighter around her. She glances up sheepishly to him.

"That sounds lovely - thank you!" Nervously she fiddles with the sheet. "Do forgive my state of undress...I slept in later than I intended."

[ooc: Now we just need an explanation for how it happens. I think we can let the other threads go.]

"It's fine. There's no one here to see you but me, and I... won't tell anyone I saw you this way." Right. Yes. Something else. "When you're ready, I'll be up on deck."

((Uhhh...would it work if Anne's father tried to negotiate a marriage between her and Liam (having a 'Captain' for a son-in-law sounds better than 'Lieutenant' to the Boleyns), but the Jones family declines, wanting a more renowned family for their first born, and negotiates that she be married to Killian instead?))

Yet she doesn't mind him seeing, somehow. She nods and turns, reaching for her dress on the floor before dropping the sheet - trying to make a point of doing so just before he leaves to let him catch a glimpse. Then she steps back into her dress and laces up the back, buttoning and tying ribbons where she needed to.

Once ready she left her cabin and made her way up to the deck, smiling at the feeling of sunlight and the breeze on her face.

[ooc: That would work, except that there isn't really a Jones family, just him and his brother. I just replied with a comment, so I can either edit it or we can work this into the narrative somehow.]

"Lady Boleyn." It's time to be formal again, with the captain and some of the crew around. "Good morning."

((Ooh...right...yeah but the one you made works!))

Anne curtseyed a little, maintaining her flawless demeanor. The smile she gives him is innocent, sweet - but the light in her eyes is a bit different.

"Lieutenant," Anne greets him. "I hope the evening kept you well."

"It did. I trust that yours was not too difficult either, in the unfamiliar surroundings? Spending time at sea can be an adjustment for some."

"No, in fact that's why I've only just gotten up," Anne replied. "Seems the peaceful nature of the sea last night rocked me straight to sleep."

"Good. Hopefully the rest of the trip will be as peaceful and calm and there will be no problems."

Anne glanced to the Captain, a charming smile on her face.

"With such a skilled Captain and such able sailors like yourself? I'm sure the trip will be smooth."

"Perhaps. Although not even we can control the weather."

"Perhaps not, but I trust you know the proper response if and when the weather does turn against us," Anne glances over the railing to the ocean surrounding them. "I have faith, lieutenant."

"Aye, we do. We've not lost a ship to bad weather yet."

Anne smiles and steps across the deck, before glancing up to Killian again.

"I wonder, Lieutenant, should you have a spare moment or two, if you might show me around the ship? I was rather tired yesterday and only saw my cabin, and if I'm to be here another week or so, I should probably be more aware of my surroundings, no?"

He glances over at Liam, who nods. "I have a spare moment right now."

"Lovely!" Anne too glances to Liam and gives a slight curtsey. "My thanks, Captain, I shan't keep your lieutenant too long."

Her dark eyes return to Killian and she steps back.

"'Tis your ship, lieutenant, seems only appropriate that you lead the way."

"Here we are then, my lady." He offers her an arm before leading her on a tour.

Anne smiles, and tries not to seem too eager as she takes him arm, only partially interested in the tour and more interested in the little time alone with him.

He takes her around the whole ship, showing her everything, ending it by showing her the locations of his and his brother's cabins. "Have you got any other questions?"

Anne can still appreciate the ship, and all its intricacies.

"Just one," She glances up to him, teeth worrying her lower lip a bit. "Do you think we have much time left here alone now, before anyone gets suspicious?"

"I think we have a few minutes. I can find more time later though."

"Very well," Anne leans against him. "If I must wait, you might give me something to tide me over until later when I can see you."

He glances around to make sure there's no one who can see them, then he smiles and leans in for a kiss.

Anne leans up, only too eager to return the kiss, even parting her lips a bit to introduce her tongue.

"I don't know if we have enough time for that." But he manages to say that without actually ending the kiss.
