[For Thomas] [Modern AU] Secret Holiday
Anne was bustling about her apartment, assembling some clothes and getting her travel bags together. They had been planning a trip for some time now, but even so the destination was a surprise still to her. Thomas hadn't told her what the final destination plan was for them. Anne packed her clothes, planning for warm and cool weather. It was a little frustrating, not knowing that to pack exactly, but overall it was exciting.
She had slipped Thomas her key before she'd left the office that day. Anne had followed up on a lead for a story earlier in the day and took the rest of the day as personal time. Then she had come home and began packing.
Anne had a pair of dresses on the bed before her, and she couldn't decide which to take. It was silly to take them both with her. One was black with red patterned flowers, the other white with blue patterned flowers. But she no only had her clothes to pack, but she had jewelry and shoes to pack as well. Oh, it was so hard to pack, not knowing what destination for which they were bound.
But it was so romantic, and she was excited to get ready and going. Of course she had to wait for Thomas. She couldn't wait for him to arrive. Anne had picked up a bottle of wine to celebrate their holiday plans. It had been tricky, planning their getaway without anyone putting two and two together. Anne had vacation time saved up and gave the rest of her tasks to George for the time they'd be gone. She wasn't sure how Thomas had managed to get his time off to match hers, but somehow they'd done it.

"Perfect," she sighed in reply. "You feel so good, oh God, Thomas!" Anne cried out for him as her hips moved in unison with his, allowing him in deeper. Her core tightened around him as he continued at that steady, sublime pace.
He felt so good inside her; better than good. This was paradise, being tangled in his limbs with the sheets around and beneath them.
no subject
"But you're here." He said it to assuage himself more than her. There was nothing doubtful about this moment. He could feel her so fully with every inch of his body. Dreamlike, yes, but not a mirage.
"Love you," he gasped. "Almost there..."
no subject
"I'm here," she whispered. "I'm here, my love. Always."
Anne felt her core continue tightening around his length, the tingling heat inside her growing hotter and harder with each push. "Yes...oh God, yes Thomas-!" Anne writhed beneath him, feeling her body tremble and quake. "Right there! I'm there-!"
She cried out for him as the tension became too much for her to bear, and suddenly all the tension released in a rush that flooded her from her core to her head. Anne's body arched against him and she leaned up to kiss him deep. Sealing the act.

But this moment was for more carnal love than any other. To urge her orgasm, Wyatt pushed himself up a bit to give a different angle to those thrusts. When she finally cried out and her muscles tightened around him, he found his release soon after. With moans and sighs and trembling limbs he settled over Anne, breathing heavily into her neck after that kiss.
"Aah... nothing compares to you," he managed to say, fingers combing through Anne's hair. "You and Paris. Perfect match."
no subject
She wouldn't mind carrying Thomas Wyatt's child, but not yet. Not now.
Now, they had a holiday to enjoy. Together, just the two of them.
Anne sighed as he settled, and she nuzzled against his forehead. Her lips brushed over his temple as she recovered her breathing once again. "I love you...so much." For being with her, for all of this. She couldn't ask for a better man.
no subject
"And I love you," he whispered back, his earnest voice a testament of the fact. He normally hesitated saying it right after making love, because of fear that it might sound like that he cared for sex more than her personality, but then again, how could he not say it?
Wyatt settled close beside Anne, relishing in the warmth between them. From the bed they had a nice view of the dark Parisian night. Pigeons were cooing on the rooftops somewhere. It was a soothing sound and Wyatt didn't feel like talking over it now.

But she said no more and cuddled in close to him. Soon they were fast asleep in each others' arms.

The next day came, and after sleeping in and enjoying a leisurely shower, Anne begged Thomas to dress quickly so that they could go out and have breakfast in the city. Anne herself dressed in a white halter dress with blue floral print and put a loose denim jacket overtop it to keep from getting chilly. Once Thomas was dressed they left the hotel and began walking the streets.
Anne was overwhelmed, remembering everything from her days here. Her eyes grew glassy as she remembered, though she bit her lower lip to keep from crying.
"There's a little cafe up on the corner, they have the most wonderful crepes and breakfast dishes," she told him, speaking in French so that they didn't stick out too much as tourists.
no subject
Wyatt's accent seeped through when he replied in otherwise good French. "Oh, excellent. I'm famished. I know they won't be serving eggs and sausages but as long I can get a large tea, I'll be in heaven." French breakfast was generally much lighter than its English counterpart but he trusted Anne to take him somewhere that sold more than tiny croissants with jam.
Though as hungry as he was, Wyatt wasn't rushing forward. No, not on these cobblestone streets lined by quaint boutiques to windowshop.
"I want to stop by there after breakfast," he said and pointed to an antique store.
no subject
Anne glanced to the boutique-lined street when Thomas pointed it out. She smiled and nodded her agreement, although still chuckling over his lament on missing an English breakfast.
"Yes, love, I promise you'll get a proper breakfast, I would never steer you wrong," she teased playfully before stopping at a cafe nearby. "This place will do nicely."
It was a cafe that served excellent tea and filling omelettes alongside pastries and homemade jams. If Thomas wanted sausage, he would have to get it in an omelette, but still. It was better than the parfait and pastry shop she would stop by before classes during her university years - she knew that wouldn't sustain him.
no subject
"Looks good," he said still in French and picked up the menu. "Let's see what they have." He quickly discarded the idea of an omelette. After all, they'd had that just last night. A man could live without saugages.
"I'll have a large tea, a cheese muffin and a crepe with fruit," he told the waiter and held off smiling too wide. He'd leave it to Anne to prove they weren't both tourists.
no subject
"A large tea for me as well, please. And a pain au chocolat with a cup of fruit," Anne ordered in near-flawless French. As the waiter left she smiled up to Thomas. "French breakfast typically only consists of a pastry - they save their calories for rich and fatty dinners."
The waiter soon returned with the tea and Anne added only a bit of milk and honey to hers before she took a sip. "Do you like the city so far, love?"
no subject
"I like being able to see it with you. With your eyes." Wyatt thought of a way to explain while chewing down a mouthful of muffin. "I've been here on business, as you know, but this... you look so happy."
Which made him happy. Though he'd harboured a fanciful crush on Anne before, actually getting to know her on intellectual and physical level had made Wyatt realize he had been in a dire need of a good relationship.
"It feels different being here now."
no subject
"I'm indeed happy. Happy to be back here, a city I love so much and considered home for so long," she smiled, reaching for his hand again and lacing her fingers with his for a moment. "But what makes me truly happy is sharing in this place with you."
She had nearly stayed in France. It had been so tempting. She could have stayed, disappeared into the crowd with her father being none the wiser and not able to find her again. Anne could have lived free and out from under the thumbs of her brother and father.
But then she would never have met Thomas, and that thought broke her heart.
She released his hand and took a few bites of her fruit before nibbling on her chocolate pastry.
"Very different - but in a good way, the best way."
no subject
He glanced out. Light from the rising sun didn't quite reach the streets where locals were rushing to their jobs and a group of Japanese tourists enjoying the same window display of an antiques store that Wyatt had been drawn to.
"But just look at that. It doesn't have to be new if you love it, right? Paris is by far the best place to get to know you." He skewered a piece of the crepe into a fork. "Want to taste?"
no subject
She followed his gaze out the window to the streets. The tourists made her chuckle slightly. That was a very familiar scene, she almost missed seeing this every day. But seeing it every day would make it less special. Anne looked back to Thomas, she smiled when he offered her a bite of his crepe and opened her mouth, leaning in to let him put the fork in her mouth.
It was silly, but she liked being silly sometimes.
no subject
He liked to be playful every now and then, too. "It's good, huh? I like it anyway," he referred to the crepe. Also the muffin had been delicious; it had made him forget eggs and sausages.
"Is the place that sells your favorite macarons close by?"
no subject
She pinched off a piece of her chocolate pastry and held it up towards Thomas, offering it to him. So many times she had started her day this way during her university years. Now she was starting her day, and her holiday, with him. That brought a smile to her face.
"It's a little ways down the street, a ten minute walk, perhaps," she replied. "Plenty of sights and small shops along the way, if you're interested." Not that there was much boring territory in Paris - at least in her opinion.
no subject
"Ten minutes will turn to... an hour, at least, if we stop at every boutique," he said, winking. "Which is good. I doubt we need the macarons right this instant."
He liked old things with stories behind them and Paris was a perfect place to make some finds.
"I can't resist old books stores, as you know, but I promise not to spend too much time in them. And I want to find a brooch for my mom."
no subject
"You needn't fuss. Spend as much time as you like in the shops, we're on holiday after all," she smiled.
Anne thought for a moment on where they could find a nice brooch for his mother. "The antiques stores would be good. The jewelry stores are far too ritzy and overpriced I think."
no subject
He finished eating and leaned back in the chair, strecthing his legs under the table so that their ankles made contact.
"We'll compromise," he smiled. "I'll be patient when you shop for clothes or shoes."
no subject
She smiled up to him when he mentioned the compromise. "Sounds fair enough. Though you'll likely need to wait for me longer in the book stores than with clothes and shoes. Jewelry you'll be waiting even longer still."
Anne laughed softly as she finished her tea and set her cup down on the saucer. "Shall we pay the check and be off then, lover?"
no subject
He lifted Anne's hand to his lips as they crossed the street to look at the vintage shop. The window display showed old china and silverware, glass and gold cigarcases among other things. A selection of renaissance era hat pins caught his attention for some reason. Wyatt pulled Anne to his side.
"Look. Had I been a young lad in those times, I would've given you a hat and a fancy pin to go with it."
((ooc: I though it would be fun to make a connection to our canon thread :). Wyatt brought Anne a hatpin from his trip to Dieppe, France.))
no subject
"Only in France," she teased right back. She rose after he paid the bill and moved to take his arm as they walked.
Anne would be content to walk the streets of Paris all day long arm in arm with Thomas. Even if there was no destination in mind. When they came upon the shop, Anne smiled and looked into the window display with Thomas.
"They're so beautiful," Anne smiled as she looked at the pins. She leaned into him and kissed along his jaw. "You spoil me now, so it's only fitting that you would spoil me then too."
She spied a locket and pointed to it. "In return I might give you something like this to remember me by. Or perhaps I would settle for letting you compose a poem on my back..." the latter sentence she whispered against his jaw.
no subject
"I would have guarded a locket from you as my prized possession. Now I just have you in my phone," he said and patted his pocket.
Having Anne's pictures in his phone had nearly cost them their secret one time. He had taken photos of all his friends at a club once and was later showing them to George. A one too many close-ups of Anne could have raised suspicion in her brother's mind but thankfully there were close-ups of others as well. He'd dodged a bullet that time.
Unfortunately the shop wasn't open yet and Wyatt couldn't go in and see if there were any brooches mother. But that didn't matter. He had plenty of time to find souvenirs for everyone. Smiling, he hooked Anne's arm with his and let her walk him wherever she wanted.
After a while he had to ask her to clarify something. "What was it about composing a poem on your back? Like how?"
no subject
George had never mentioned seeing pictures of her on Thomas' phone. But he was in a habit of taking Anne's phone and posting social media statuses and sending texts to people she didn't speak to anymore, so Anne was worried that one day he would stumble upon their secret. She tried to guard her phone more carefully.
Anne squeezed his arm as they walked and leaned into him a bit.
"Like taking a pen perhaps, pretending to write on my skin while composing your next masterpiece," Anne explained. "It just popped into my head - it's silly, pay me no mind!"
